Event Host Rules
# Via Sanctum Event Host Rules
Last updated: 12 March 2026
Via Sanctum uses an approval-based event listing model.
## 1. Roles
- `member`: can browse approved events, RSVP, and apply for host verification.
- `verified_host`: can submit event listings for review by Via Sanctum's internal moderator-admin account.
- `admin`: internal Via Sanctum moderator role that reviews host applications and event listings; can approve, reject, edit, unpublish, or suspend host permissions.
## 2. Host application requirements
Members applying for host verification must provide:
- name;
- email;
- church or organisation;
- reason for hosting.
Host verification is discretionary and can be approved, rejected, or suspended by Via Sanctum's internal moderator-admin account.
## 3. Event submission workflow
- Only verified hosts can submit event listings.
- Submission does not guarantee publication.
- Every submitted listing remains pending until manually reviewed by Via Sanctum's internal moderator-admin account.
- Via Sanctum's internal moderator-admin role may approve, reject, edit, unpublish, or remove listings.
## 4. Event format in current release
Events are non-social, opt-in records in this release. The Events tab remains visible, but event access stays disabled until a user enables `Account > Community > Enable Events`.
Included:
- title;
- date/time;
- location;
- description;
- RSVP attendance state.
Not included:
- in-app comments;
- event chat;
- reactions;
- direct messaging;
- friend discovery;
- challenge invites;
- open public posting feeds.
## 5. Accuracy and conduct requirements
- Event details must be truthful, lawful, and reasonably accurate.
- Do not submit deceptive, duplicate, abusive, or spam listings.
- Host status may be suspended for repeated misuse.
## 6. In-person responsibility and listing scope
- Hosts are responsible for their event details, venue arrangements, and the lawful, safe conduct of their in-person events.
- Via Sanctum does not supervise or control in-person events, venues, or attendee conduct.
- Users attend or participate in events at their own risk.
- Event, church, and site listings are provided for informational and devotional discovery purposes and do not necessarily imply endorsement, sponsorship, or official affiliation unless explicitly stated.
## 7. Enforcement
Policy or safety breaches may lead to:
- listing rejection or removal;
- listing unpublish;
- host suspension;
- account restrictions, suspension, or removal where appropriate.
